The Lucas Community Garden has recently been rearranged to make way for the Lucas Community Hub expansion project.

The Lucas Community Garden has recently been rearranged to make way for the Lucas Community Hub expansion project. A temporary fence has been erected and construction works are expected to continue until November.

Please feel free to visit the garden and take a look at what is currently growing. We also have compost bins for anyone to drop off food scraps. Visitors who arrive via the kindergarten carpark will need to make their way around the temporary fencing to access the facilities.

When construction works have ended, the site will be levelled and the garden will expand into its new home. Future plans include a kids gardening area, a sensory zone, facilities for sharing local produce, additional fruit trees and a covered area. It is hoped that the garden will become a space for all to value, share and enjoy.

A welcome is extended to anyone in our community who would like an opportunity to participate, socialise and to feel included in a group activity setting. The garden is run by a friendly group of local volunteers, and working bees are held during the warmer months. Please get in contact for more information.
