A grand opening event at Ingenia Lifestyle Parkside Lucas is always cause for celebration, but when it involves activities you can now enjoy right on your doorstep every day – then it really becomes a party.

Parkside Lucas residents, family and friends came together on Saturday 20 April to commemorate the grand opening of their new state-of-the-art Community Clubhouse and resort-style facilities, which features an indoor pool, gym, yoga studio, lawn bowls, outdoor BBQ area, indoor event spaces and even a hairdresser.

“We are absolutely thrilled to deliver these quality facilities for our residents to enjoy,” said Senior Development Manager, Jeet Parmar. “In any development, it’s an exciting milestone to reach the end of construction, but seeing the benefits these facilities provide for the community is even more rewarding.”

The grand opening event provided a festive atmosphere, with guests enjoying food trucks – featuring local Masterchef celebrity Tim Bone’s famous toasties – as well as a resident-hosted BBQ feast, entertainment, plus face painting and balloon twisting for the grandkids.

“It was such a joy seeing residents enjoying their new spaces,” said Community Manager Clare Irving. “Our community already comes together for events and activities, but these incredible new areas mean there’s dedicated spaces to enjoy, with more room to spread out, more to do, and more opportunities to connect.”

The new Community Clubhouse precinct enhances the vibrant community spirit of Parkside Lucas, and will be an exciting way for new residents to meet people as more homes are completed in the coming months.

“There’s been a real buzz around the place these last few weeks as the facilities got finished off,” said Clare. “And even though the Community Clubhouse area is now complete, there’s still plenty more going on, including more new home construction.”

To come and see our brand new facilities for yourself, reach out to Karen on 0467 946 339, or drop by our sales office Monday to Saturday 10am – 4pm.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Lucas Lifestyle Estate, is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its new state-of-the-art Pavilion, enriching the vibrant over 50’s community. To celebrate the opening, Ballarat Mayor Des Hudson OAM and Serenitas CEO, Rob Nichols, cut the ribbon to the Pavilion, delighting homeowners who are reaping the rewards of the new resort-style facilities on offer.

Strategically located minutes from the heart of Ballarat, the estate harmonises the allure of this historic town alongside modern conveniences and a lively community spirit. The unveiling of the Pavilion, alongside the recent transformation of the Country Club, marks the culmination of efforts to enhance the recreational precinct, fostering opportunities for social interaction, relaxation, and creativity among homeowners.

Rob Nichols, CEO of Serenitas, said, “The Pavilion represents a significant expansion of our recreational precinct and complements the recently upgraded Country Club. This milestone is particularly meaningful for our homeowners, who now have access to additional premier facilities, including an indoor heated swimming pool, a sports bar and hobby shed.”

“Our mission is to foster a dynamic and inclusive community while enhancing the existing charms of the region,” Mr. Nichols emphasised.

Beyond the Pavilion, the Country Club boasts a comprehensive array of amenities including a gym, fitness studio, coffee lounge, bar and dining space, BBQ area, library, cinema, bowling green, bocce court, and putting green, serving as a focal point for recreational pursuits and community gatherings.

“Lucas presents an unparalleled opportunity for individuals over 50 to embrace a low-maintenance lifestyle within a gated community, where they can access a wide range of resort facilities and forge enduring connections. The Lucas Community Garden has recently been rearranged to make way for the Lucas Community Hub expansion project. A temporary fence has been erected and construction works are expected to continue until November.

Please feel free to visit the garden and take a look at what is currently growing. We also have compost bins for anyone to drop off food scraps. Visitors who arrive via the kindergarten carpark will need to make their way around the temporary fencing to access the facilities.

When construction works have ended, the site will be levelled and the garden will expand into its new home. Future plans include a kids gardening area, a sensory zone, facilities for sharing local produce, additional fruit trees and a covered area. It is hoped that the garden will become a space for all to value, share and enjoy.

A welcome is extended to anyone in our community who would like an opportunity to participate, socialise and to feel included in a group activity setting. The garden is run by a friendly group of local volunteers, and working bees are held during the warmer months.

Please get in contact for more information.

The Lucas Community over 60s social group has now been established for over two years. As new residents are steadily moving into our area,  we get to meet them and make them feel part of our warm, welcoming Group.

We are a relaxed and happy group, with great conversation and plenty of support to all.  We do, from time to time, have very good speakers from the Ballarat Community, who always impart great ideas and connections to other activities in the Ballarat community.  Good friendships are made along the way, with activities being instigated amongst our Members.

We meet every second Tuesday at 10am at the Ballarat Golf Club, Sturt Street, Alfredton, for Coffee and Catch-up.

So don’t be shy – you can be assured of a warm and nurturing welcome.  We would love to see some new faces!

Ballarat Community Health (BCH) is thrilled to celebrate a significant milestone – 10 years of dedicated service and operation from their flagship site in Lucas. Located at 12 Lilburne Street, Lucas, this building has been a cornerstone of healthcare in the western region of Ballarat, serving tens of thousands of clients over the past decade.

The Lucas site has not only been essential to BCH’s operations but has also become a major healthcare provider and a vital part of the community.

In June 2012 a proposal to build a new site in the west of Ballarat was pitched with the idea being it would be in the western growth corridor, this is a few months before the government had released the plans for the western growth corridor growth area, another 50,000 increase in population and staged planning. The site in Lucas was green and at the start of the growth area, and from a transport perspective, it was right on the edge of the proposed ring road as well as having the significance of being on the Avenue of Honour. These factors along with endless more came to an 800-page due diligence report on why BCH purchased the block of land.

The Lucas project is a testament to the enduring presence of Ballarat Community Health which has been on the community for 43 years. Architects were selected from a competitive field and Melbourne firm DesignInc. was the successful tenderer. This state-of-the-art building incorporates environmental and health promoting features such as recycled materials, natural light, climate control, open space, and indoor plants to add to the aesthetics and low carbon footprint. The ground floor includes a welcoming reception area, gymnasium, café, community kitchen, child play space, multipurpose event and meeting room plus plenty of private rooms for consultations.

In July 2013 local Ballarat firm Nicholson Construction was selected as the preferred builder for it’s environmental capabilities, use of local materials and costings. When the building was completed, 93 percent of the trades, supplies and materials were from Ballarat or the region. Only specialist items such as lifts not available in Australia came from overseas. By June 2014, The Lucas building was ready to be opened – an incredible achievement to have these works completed in under a year. The official opening took place on 23rd July 2014 with more than 500 invited guests and visitors.

Lucas is now the flagship site of Ballarat Community Health with 5 other locations in Ballarat being, Howitt St Wendouree, Cooinda Wendouree, Vickers St Sebastopol, Victoria St Bakery Hill and headspace Ballarat. The design and quality of the building were more broadly recognised in 2015 winning the Victorian Architecture Awards: Regional Prize for the Best Regional Building, and Nicholson Construction was awarded Regional Commercial Builder of the Year for their work.

Fast forward 10 years and Ballarat Community Health now see 530 clients every day across its sites with over 130,000 service events in the past 12 months. Doors are open to everyone in the community.

To commemorate this special occasion, BCH will host a celebratory afternoon tea later in the year. BCH extends a warm invitation to all Lucas residents and the greater community to join them in this celebration with information to come via their social channels over the coming weeks.

This event will offer an opportunity to look back on the key milestones and achievements of the past 10 years as well as see their state-of-the-art building and facilities mentioned. BCH will also share their vision for the future, outlining upcoming initiatives designed to continue improving the health and wellbeing of those not only living in Lucas but the entire Ballarat community.
